2025 Links Bridge Vineyards Wine and Art Series

This year, Links Bridge will host eleven exhibits by area artists, most lasting about one month.  You’ll find a listing of artists, dates, and times below.

First up is a collection of photos of Links Bridge that are “digitally reconstituted” by the artist to produce alternate versions that will capture your imagination.  The last exhibit brings you striking photos by an accomplished landscape photographer of natural landscapes in the eastern and western United States.  Between these photographic bookends are nine other shows by individual artists and groups.  Some emphasize plein air painting of Frederick County and mid-Atlantic scenes.  Others feature studio paintings that range from very representational to very abstract.  Overall, these exhibits provide a great picture of the abundant artistic talent in our area.

We hope you’ll come by for a look at some or all of the exhibits.  We have scheduled weekend afternoon receptions for most of the artists, providing them an opportunity to talk informally about their work, and in some cases to demonstrate the techniques they use.  We especially invite you to come by on those days to chat with the artists over a glass of wine!

Hidden Fruit of the Vine: Digital Artwork
by Allen Hirsh, February 1-28
(Reception for the artist: February 8, 2-4pm)

Using a unique transformation process of his own creation, Allen Hirsh has changed  everyday conventional photos taken at Links Bridge Vineyards into impressionistic and abstract images.  The process involves manipulating both the color and position of each pixel in the original still photo to obtain a new image that fascinates the eye.

Iron Works Festival Plein Air Artists
May 24-June 1

Visitors to Catoctin Furnace’s 8th Annual Maryland Iron Festival (May 17-18) can see iron pouring and blacksmithing demonstrations, tour historic structures in the Catoctin Furnace area, and enjoy live music, food trucks, a wine and beer bar, and other activities.  The festival always attracts numerous plein air painters, and we’re pleased that this year their work will be on display afterward at the Links Bridge tasting room from May 24 through June 1.

Hands of the Artist is a group of five friends who work together to inspire and encourage one another.  A personal attraction to art since childhood unites them.  Nevertheless, their differing styles illustrate how the same physical facts can take on very different shapes when filtered through different imaginations.  Members of this group have shown their work solo and collectively at venues like Crestwood and Delaplaine, and here at Links Bridge Vineyards.
