Beginning next weekend (July 8-9), we’ll be hosting an exhibit of oil paintings by Galina Kolosovskaya.  Born in Russia, Kolosovskaya is best known for her paintings of flowers and birds.  After graduating in fine arts, she was an active member of the remarkable arts community in Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East. She served as artistic director for the Wildlife Foundation, premier environmental organization working for the survival of the Siberian tiger and conservation of Russian flora and fauna.

Kolosovskaya’s work has been shown at numerous exhibits within the Russian Far East, and may be found in private collections in Russia, Japan, France, Germany, Canada and the USA.  After moving to the United States in 2003, she has continued her delicate still life paintings, and pursued her newer interest in the birds found here in Maryland.  Her work has been shown in exhibits in Silver Spring, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and other cities in Maryland.  Now living in Silver Spring, she is a member of the Montgomery Art Association and the Art League of Ocean City.  Open on the weekends, 11am to 6pm, and on other days by appointment.
