Pastels by Laurie Basham

From Saturday May 25 through Saturday June 15 we will be exhibiting artwork by Maryland pastel artist Laurie Basham. Laurie is an accomplished plein air painter whose work delights the eye by capturing both the beauty and the mood of her subjects.  Her work includes portraits, still-lives, and rural Maryland landscapes.  Some pieces in the exhibit are from private collections and some will be available for purchase.  All are worth seeing!

A native of Rockville, Maryland, Laurie received her Degree in Art Education from the University of Maryland in 1985 and has since been an art instructor in Howard County, Maryland.  Over the years, she has participated in many workshops conducted by well-known artists such as Mark Coates, Desiree Holmes-Scherini, David Diaz, and renowned pastel artist, Margaret Dyer.  Her work has been displayed in many places around the Baltimore/D.C. area, and has been featured in two solo shows and in many invitational and juried exhibits. She is a signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society, where she serves as the events chairperson, and is also a member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.

On the exhibit’s final evening (Saturday June 15, 5 pm to 8 pm), we will hold a public reception for Laurie in our tasting room.  Don’t miss this opportunity to visit with her, learn more about her approach and style, purchase a masterpiece for yourself, or otherwise just enjoy these gorgeous images.  (And of course, drink a little Links Bridge Vineyards wine!)

Paintings by Alissa Rosenstein

Paintings by Alissa Rosenstein

We will host an exhibition of original paintings by Delaware artist Alissa Rosenstein from April 13 through May 11.  The exhibition begins with a reception from 5pm-8pm on Saturday, April 13. The reception, open to the public, offers an opportunity to meet with the artist, view her paintings, and enjoy some Links Bridge Vineyards wine.  Light hors d’oeuvres will be served and reservations are not required.

Rosenstein’s paintings focus on scenic views, particularly bright and colorful sunrises and sunsets over the coastal Delaware waterways and countryside scenes of Frederick County, Maryland. She is especially inspired by the play of color and light over water.

Rosenstein, a graduate of Towson University, grew up in Montgomery County, was a long-time resident of Frederick, and now lives in Delaware.   She is Production Manager for Delaware Beach Life Magazine and owns a freelance graphic design business. She returns frequently to Frederick to be with family and friends and still considers it home. She is an avid hiker and bike rider and hiking the trails of Frederick County with her father is a favorite recreation.

Hope to see you all there!

Maryland Wine Month

March 2, 2019 / News

Maryland Wine Month

March is Maryland Wine Month.  It’s time to visit some (or all!) of the 90 or so wineries that can now be found around the state.  For a comprehensive listing of our amazing array of wineries, look here.  And check this page for more about Maryland Wine Month.

We also want to remind you to stop by Links Bridge Vineyards or any of the other six members of the  Frederick Wine Trail for a Frederick Wine Trail Explorers’ Pass.  Buy a wine tasting, glass of wine, or bottle from any two participating wineries, have each stamp your Explorers’ Pass, and your tasting at the next participating winery will be free of charge.  This deal is valid throughout Maryland Wine Month, and it’s a nice way to become acquainted, or renew your acquaintance, with some great places and great wines!

Hope to see you during March,
Joan and Bob

Happy Birthday (Ours)!

As of today, March 3, 2019, our tasting room has been open for a full year.  During that year, we’ve enjoyed meeting and pouring our wines for a lot of people—many local, many from the D.C. and Baltimore metro areas, and many from much farther afield.  It’s been exciting for us, and we hope for you too.  To all of you, we want to say thanks for coming by!

Best wishes,
