We’ve Been Bottling!

May 3, 2018 / News

We’ve just bottled seven new wines, and we’re pretty excited about the results!  We’ll be introducing these wines later this summer and will tell you more about them then, but here’s the list:

  •  2016 Monocacy Blend (a merlot/cab franc blend)
  • 2016 Cab Franc Bin 7
  • 2016 Cab Franc Bin 10
  • 2017 Riverside Chardonnay
  • 2017 Hillside Chardonnay
  • 2017 Albariño
  • 2017 Vidal Blanc.

We’d like to thank Ernie Yoder and St. Michael’s Corkers for two successful bottling days, one here at Links Bridge Vineyards (2017 whites) and another over at Maryland Wine Cellars (2016 reds).  Thanks also to our own bottling team, including Cody Allbright, James (Rudy) Martin, and Celine Rosenwald, and to the folks at Maryland Wine Cellars.

As always, we look forward to seeing you here at Links Bridge Vineyards!

Maryland Wine Month Has Begun!

March 12, 2018 / News

[Note:  this is pretty much a re-post of our February 24th message about Maryland Wine Month.  We’re sending it again because it seems that our newsletter system was not working correctly the first time around.  We think we have corrected the problem, and if so those who have signed up for our newsletter should receive this in an email.  We’ve edited the message a bit to adjust for the passage of time.]

March is Maryland Wine Month, an ideal time to visit some (or a lot) of the growing collection of wineries in our state. Links Bridge Vineyards would be a good place to begin, as March is also the first month we will be open. But Maryland has an incredible array of wineries that are making very good wine, and we urge you to check all of them out. Many have special Maryland Wine Month events scheduled.

As you explore the state’s wineries during March, be sure to pick up a Maryland Wine Month Challenge Card, have the card stamped by each winery you visit, then email a photo of your card to the Maryland Wineries Association at the end of the month. There are prizes, the most magnificent of which is a Maryland Wine Lovers Weekend for Two.

For more information about Maryland Wine Month and the Challenge Card, take a look at the Maryland Wine Month page on the Maryland Wineries Association website.

You Can Also Celebrate Maryland Wine Month by Joining the Frederick Wine Trail’s Poker Run

Visit any participating Frederick Wine Trail winery during March, and receive a poker run playing card along with your tasting. Collect at least three cards throughout the month to be eligible to play in the Game Day Tournament on Friday, April 6th at Linganore Winecellars, 6:00-8:30pm. The more cards you collect, the better your chance of winning! For more information, ask at any of these wineries:

Catoctin Breeze Vineyard
Elk Run Vineyard and Winery
Hidden Hills Farm and Vineyard
Linganore Winecellars
Links Bridge Vineyards
Loew Vineyards
Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery
